iPod Touch LCD Repair and Replacement – 2nd and 3rd Generation iPod Touch

We recently released a new tutorial on 2G and 3G iPod Touch LCD replacement.  The detailed video discusses removal of the iPod Touch Front Glass / Digitizer, Midframe, and LCD. In the video we take a look at how to correctly remove a front glass as well as a guide for removing the locking clips holding in the Front Glass of the iPod Touch. The removal and replacement process for the LCD is the same on both the 2nd generation iPod Touch as well as the 3rd Generation. The parts for each repair slightly differ as each model uses a specific Front Glass / Digitizer, Midframe, and LCD.

iPod Touch LCD repair and replacement can be difficult. You can damage vital components during the removal or installation process of the new iPod Touch LCD. If you are not comfortable please consult with our expert technicians or send it in for professional replacement.

It’s fairly easy to purchase an inexpensive LCD screen and replace it yourself. All you need are a few simple tools, a little bit of patience, and before you know it you’ll have a new display for your iPod.
