My Samsung s9 keeps shutting down spontaneously
Have you seen this problem before on this phone ? Are you open Memorial Day?

        • admin says:

Hello sorry we were closed this Memorial Day. We are usually open but given the recent covid quarantine we’ve cut our hours back a little. As far as your problem that is odd, could be a hardware issue. I suggest backing up the s9 as a priority. We can try a restore of the phone and see if that helps the situation, if not it could be hardware and we would need to see if it can be repaired.

    • admin says:

Hello the price is currently about 149.95 for the repair. Please call one of our stores for current pricing. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

Hello, I recently broke my forear and I love to play my PS4 but the HDMI Output chip in it came out. Do you know how much it will cost to be repaired?

    • admin says:

Hello, pricing varies on water damage repairs. We would recommend letting us diagnose the issue first and then we can provide you with a repair quote if the device is repairable. In the meantime DO NOT try to turn the phone on or plug it in until it is cleaned and dried properly.

    • admin says:

Hello Emily, the price for the 7 is still a bit expensive. Rough estimate is $225.00 for the repair currently. As the phone gets a little older the prices of screens will eventually come down. Please call our store for the most recent price. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

Do u guys repair laptops…dropped it on the floor…it wont turn on?? Its a real cheap laptop worth less than $300, if it cost too much to repair i m willing to discard it..

    • admin says:

Hello Brian, yes we repair many laptops, macbooks, desktops, and server systems. Feel free to stop by one of our shops.

    • admin says:

Depends on the issue, some aren’t worth repairing due to the price of replacing being cheaper than the repair.

    • admin says:

Hello, this is an expensive repair. Do you have insurance? Feel free to give us a call for a quote on Monday at 516-499-6892. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

This is a special Apple price given to customers that have experienced slowing of their iPhone or battery depletion due to their updates. It encompasses phones from the iPhone 6 and above so you should qualify. This program is not permanent and I believe ends Dec 2018 so take advantage now if you need to. We hear there is sometimes a few week wait period for the replacement.

    • admin says:

Yes we do, the cost is high though. Please call for a current quote. The Apple Watch 2 digitizer / lcd is expensive.

I dropped my phone from a roller coaster. It is damaged very badly and wont even turn on. Do you think you can fix it ?

    • admin says:

There is a chance if the board isn’t badly damaged. We fixed one once that fell 45 flights down an elevator shaft so anything is possible. 🙂

  4. Danny P says:

The fan on my PS4 is annoyingly loud while I play certain games and when certain cutscenes come on. Is their a solution to this? Perhaps a new fan?

    • Daniel Cieslak says:

This could be the PS4 fan having an issue or another likely culprit is the unit is running hot and starting to overheat, the fan will stay on high to compensate. We can certainly take a look at it for you. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

    • admin says:

You are looking at about $69.95 for the repair. Feel free to call our Williston Park store at 516-742-1000 if you have any questions. Sincerely, Dan

    • admin says:

Hard to say Jewel, it could have damaged the board beyond repair. We would need to see it first to determine what components need replacement. Feel free to mail it in or drop it off for diagnosis. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

    • admin says:

Yes, we can fix top speakers on iPhones. Cost depends on issue and what’s causing it but a general idea would be around $40-50 for top speaker repair.

    • admin says:

Ipad Air 2 is one of those pesky Apple models that has an expensive screen price. This was the first iPad they decided to integrate the LCD and Digitizer together into one piece. With that in mind the price varies constantly with this part. Feel free to call our shop for a current quote. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

Often the OEM battery’s for these older phones are not the best choice. I have tried some of the OEM new battery’s and even though they are new and have not been used, because of their age, sitting around for a long time they perform as old used battery’s.

    • admin says:

I agree with some of this. Batteries in general can be sitting for a long time whether they are new or aftermarket. Aftermarket batteries are not always made to the same specifications though and there have been times I have seen that aftermarket actually states a certain amp hour rating but in fact it’s much lower. One time I found someone just wrapped a sticker around an iPhone battery and called it an extended iPhone battery but in fact it was just a cheap aftermarket with lower amperage with a nice sticker wrapped around it.

  6. Nick Mullen says:

How much to fully replace a fully water damaged acer aspire 5552 from about 2010 replace everything and upgrade to an i7 and 16gb ram and add a gaming graphics card?

    • admin says:

Nick, since this seems to be a notebook upgrade options are very limited. With everything being integrated into the computer motherboard upgrade options are minimal. You can upgrade the RAM but the processor is many times not replaceable. You cannot add a graphics card to this either. Your best bet for gaming is a desktop as you can upgrade components along the way. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

    • admin says:

Hello, each screen generally has a different price depending on the cost of the parts. Feel free to give one of our stores a call or drop by for a free estimate. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

  7. Daniel Reardon says:

Hello, I got some ramen broth on my Mac Book Pro(w/Touch Bar) and it won’t turn on. I did my best to dry it out and get as much of it out as possible. I know that isn’t the best liquid to get into a Mac but what’s the range estimate of internal clean/repair for this type of scenario?

    • admin says:

Would be hard to give an estimate without looking at the Macbook motherboard and the damage that you incurred. You can send it or drop it off to one of our stores if you like. We can take a look, it may need components on the board repaired, lcd issues, etc. Also on these newer Macs we see a lot of the internal SSD drives going bad with liquid damage since they are poorly protected. Sincerely, Repair Sharks

  8. Sally Chen says:

Hello, what would be the approximate cost to fix the charging port of my Eluktronics N870HK1. I thought my adapter was the problem so I bought a new one to fix it however it turns out my charging port is “loose” and I’m unable to charge my laptop without holding the adapter to the port. This in turn overheats my charging port and my adapter. Thank you for your time and help.

Hi, do you repair PCs? Mine has become wonky ever since added Minecraft to it. Need to remove this app and try to return the PC to normal condition. Willing to purchase additional memory if that helps.

    • admin says:

Sorry for the late reply but yes we do repair PC’s and notebooks. RAM would be helpful and depending on your Hard Drive situation perhaps moving to an SSD if you haven’t already done so.
