iPhone Back Glass Replacement Service

With the cost of replacing a rear glass cover on your iPhone 8, X, XS, XR, or 11 at Apple it’s almost worth buying a new phone.

That is UNTIL we found a solution!

Introducing Rear Back Glass Replacement for all iPhone Models.

Repair Sharks announces iPhone back glass replacement is available for all models at less than 1/3rd the price of Apple.

We found a way to do it successfully with the right equipment thereby reducing time and cost for rear glass repair.

Why Is It So Expensive to repair the back glass?

The glass is bonded with what we like to think is some space-age polymer. This bond makes it extremely difficult to remove and replace the glass on the rear of the iPhone with traditional tools.

The Sharks have spent months trying to reduce the time of iPhone back glass replacement and improve the quality but the fact remains that it is a long and time-consuming process. Our old process would take a full day and cost upwards of $250 on the low end. Going to Apple for iPhone back glass replacement and they will replace your phone. You will certainly be charged a hefty fee for replacing your iPhone at Apple, generally over $400.

Using new technology, we can now offer a much lower cost for repairing your iPhone back glass.

Why Does Apple Use Glass on the Back?

In order to allow for NFC charging on the phones, Apple needed to create a more permeable back cover to allow the signal to pass through, introducing the new glass back you see on all iPhone models.

Why Does the iPhone Back Cover Break?

The back glass, due to the way it is made and bonded to the iPhone, will crack and shatter just as easy as the front. Phones, when protected by a case, are typically back-side heavy. Many times a phone with a case will fall and land on its back. When struck the right way the rear glass will crack whether you have a case or not.

Why You Should Replace Your Back Glass

  • When a crack occurs on the iPhone rear glass you compromise the phone’s water resistance, you would be surprised at how well water will find cracks on a wet device. We have seen cracked phones die from water damage on numerous occasions.
  • NOTICE – The cracked glass on the backs of the iPhone is extremely sharp, like razor-sharp. We have been stuck hundreds of times by the glass on iPhones. This glass is sometimes so small you can’t get it out of your hand for days.
  • Lastly, you can’t trade your iPhone into your carrier such as Verizon, Sprint, or Tmobile when your back is cracked. This poses a big problem. You are responsible for keeping your leased/borrowed phone in good condition, much like a car lease. When it comes time to trade your device in you will have 2 options, fix the glass or throw it in a drawer and take the loss.

How Our iPhone Back Glass Replacement Process Works

Our process is simple. Give us a call, we will make sure we have the correct rear glass in stock matching the color and model of your iPhone.

Once we receive the phone we will begin the repair. To do this repair correctly we will need roughly 3 hours. This is to ensure a clean removal of the iPhone’s back glass, cleaning and preparation of the iPhones rear frame, and to securely bond the back glass with the new adhesive.

Repair Shark’s uses a special clamping and bonding system to ensure a tight, secure, and water-resistant application of your iPhone back cover. We warranty all of our parts and labor from defect. Please note, this does not include if you smash it on the ground again.

Does it void my Warranty?

Unfortunately, if you broke your glass you technically voided your warranty already. But replacing the glass for resale, trade-in, personal harm prevention, or to retain your water resistance is now a bit more affordable. Technically, Apple doesn’t void your warranty for having third-party repair work done. You are within your right to have it repaired by a third-party such as Repair Sharks.
