In less than a month, Apple is expected to unveil their groundbreaking flagship carrier in celebration of the iPhone’s 10-year anniversary. The upcoming iPhone 8 is expected to be a game changing device with a number of innovative features – something that every Apple fan has been waiting a long time for.

Investment bank Morgan Stanley described the that the device will have some of “the most meaningful features and technology upgrades in iPhone history.” Aside from being the 10-year anniversary iPhone, Apple needs a competitive handset that can help them boost their revenues after a disappointing 2016. Based on Nikkei Asian’s review of the iPhone 7 sales, the poor performing device forced the company to cut back its production by 10%.

Samsung also gave Apple a run for its money with the arrival of their future-thinking smartphone earlier this year. In a dedicated Galaxy S8 page by O2, the 4.6-star rated handset features some of the top mobile technologies including wireless charging, ‘infinity’ display, Bluetooth 5.0, propriety AI software Bixby with machine learning, iris biometric security sensor and more. These are the same features that consumers hope to see on the iPhone 8.

Despite Apple’s attempt to manage any leaked information, analysts have unearthed some of the iPhone 8’s important features. Read on below as we reveal the top leaked information about the iPhone 8.

Edge-to-edge display

Leaked images of an iPhone with an all new design elements have been circulating online. One of its noteworthy features is its edge-to-edge display, similar to the Galaxy S8’s infinity screen. Apple analyst KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo remarked that Apple is probably working on having an additional virtual function area to replace the physical Home button. He also discussed screen resolution specs – 521 PPI pixel density, 2436×1125 resolution, 5.15 inch usable screen space, 21:9 ratio, and 3x retina scaling.

Face ID

While Samsung has invested in upgrading their devices with iris sensors, Apple is working on including facial recognition security for their iPhone 8. Cowen’s Apple analyst Timothy Arcuri said that facial and gesture recognition could be some of the features that are included in Apple’s next flagship carrier, with it gaining a new front-facing sensor to enable the scanner. In a 9to5mac report about the Face ID technology, an analyst explained that the new biometric sensor on the iPhone will be “supported by a new laser sensor and an infrared sensor mounted near the front-facing camera” while the Touch ID will be embedded in the display.

Wireless charging

Wireless charging is one of the interesting features that is expected to be available with the upcoming iPhone 8. Based on the leaked images online, the iPhone 8 will have internal wireless charging components. However, Apple expert John Gruber said the feature could be sold as an optional extra. While the device is capable of charging wirelessly, users will have to purchase the additional wireless charging pad accessory in order for the feature to work. Previously, Apple filed patents for charging smartphones using Wi-Fi, but it appears that they will opt for inductive technologies rather than the signal method for their next handset.

Another feature rumored to appear on the iPhone 8 is the waterproofing capability. But, unlike the other rugged devices on the market, CultofMac said it will have a higher waterproof rating. The next iPhone is set to boast a IP68 rating protection. This will enable the handset to withstand dust, dirt, and sand as well as be resistant to submersion of up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for 30 minutes. Currently, only the Galaxy S7 smartphone comes with an IP68 rating and Apple is allegedly planning to try and catch up this year with a handset that can be submerged just as deep.

Traditionally, Apple unveils its new phones in September, so experts foresee the iPhone 8 to be launched sometime around September 6th. Although it will be announced alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, there have been reports that the long-awaited smartphone will not arrive on the market until October or November. Japanese Apple-tracking site Macotakara reported on the potential delay stating that Apple has planned to release the device sometime during its fiscal first quarter (October-December).

iPhone 8 – What to expect?

Smartphones have become an essential part of our lives and the ever-ending war between iOS and Android has another competitor to arrive, which is the iPhone 8. A list of features and functionalities start making it to the internet right at the beginning of each year, however, the most accurate ones arrive by the mid of each year.

Apple has been fairly slow with adding up to their iPhone series ever since the release of the iPhone 6, there hasn’t been any major change. This time however, it looks like the iOS giant is going to bring something more to the plate, after all it is the iPhone’s 10th anniversary. There are a bunch of rumors that we think are leaning towards the reality and they are as follows.

Design & Display

Unlike the previous versions of iPhone, there are going to be three variants. Namely, the iPhone 8 which would come bearing a 5.15” inch display, an iPhone 8 Plus which is the bigger variant and would have a 5.8” display, a third phone which would be the same size as that of the iPhone 8 Plus, however, the display would be an OLED instead of the standard display.

The biggest hype of the iPhone is the rumor that circulates around the screen. Inspired from the Samsung Galaxy S8, it is expected that it will pack the infinity display or the edge-to-display as most people like to call it. The metal body will be replaced with that of the glass body similar to that of the iPhone 4.

Home Button and Touch ID

The iPhone 8 is expected to come without the home button, instead it will have a complete screen and at the middle bottom of the display it will have a touch button like the assistive touch which will be a software key instead of a hardware one.

The confusion however is whether it will have touch ID or not, we expect that it will have an onscreen finger print reader. The rumors are that the touch ID will be replaced with a facial recognition system. Apple knows its thing without a doubt, but it will be weird if facial recognition replaces touch ID, what if you are using your phone in a dark room?

Features and Functionalities

The Apple iPhone 8 will have a faster A11 chip that is 10 nano-meters in size, it is expected that the newer chip will improve the battery life as well as make the already snappy software more snappier and smooth.

With almost all the latest android phones packing up the water resistance feature, it would be a turn-off if Apple doesn’t make sure that the iPhone 8 is water resistant. With the technology moving towards the wireless configuration, it is also rumored that the iPhone 8 will wireless charging enabled which will be in-actual wireless charging unlike the competitors setting up a charging dock.

Samsung Galaxy S8: What We All Have Been Waiting For

Samsung Galaxy S8: What We All Have Been Waiting For

As Samsung fans wait with bated breath for the release of the Galaxy S8, they look forward to a new product that will be explosive in much more positive ways than the notorious exploding Note 7.  Aficionados hoped to catch their first glimpse of the Galaxy S8 at at the CES or MWC tech shows this winter, but analysts are now predicting a debut in late March or April instead.

The Specs: Two Versions of the Galaxy S8

For the first time, Samsung is expected to release a model in two separate sizes, which will be designated as the S8 and the S8+.  The screens on both will be bigger than the S7, due to the disappearance of the home button and the edge-to-edge screen size. Even the fingerprint scanner will migrate to beneath the glass, thanks to new optical sensing technology that permits fingerprint-scanning through the glass itself, relieving the need for a separate button on the front.

Another source suggests that this model might move from the QHD screen (first introduced iwth the Galaxy S6) to a new display with 4K resolution. Users of Gear Virtual Reality certainly hope for the 4K screen, which would greatly enhance the imagery available in the stereoscopic mode employed by VR Gear.  This high resolution screen is expected to continue the use of AMOLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology which has been successfully integrated into smart phones by Samsung and almost no one else.

The processor in the Galaxy S8 is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip—an expectation boosted by the recent report that Samsung recently bought out Qualcomm’s early shipments in preparation for the S8’s release, entirely cutting off the LG G6 from using the chip. Analysts also anticipate the use of a new design in smaller transistor, boosting efficiency and performance while lowering power consumption.

Combining the decreased consumption of the transistors, the power saving features of the Android N software, and the likely larger battery, Samsung users also hope that they can enjoy longer battery life on the new phone.

Design of the S8

Aesthetically speaking, the Galaxy S8 might be a whole different animal from its predecessors!  The entire front of the unit will be almost nothing but screen (okay, ninety percent screen compared to the current standard of eighty), and the bezels are expected to be significantly smaller.

Rumor has it that the Galaxy will be available only in a configuration with curved-edge display, a design made possible with OLED screens. Hints dropped by Samsung execs seem to point to the phasing out of flat screens entirely, especially since the Galaxy S7 Edge (with curved edge) outsold the flat screen Galaxy S7.

Many Samsung users hope that the Galaxy S8 will feature the Type C USB port, which is reversible (it doesn’t matter which way you plug it in) and supports output for different types of connections like HDMI, VGA, or DisplayPort.

The Galaxy S7 already features dual pixel cameras, which still have yet to debut under other manufacturers, and photographers are wondering what new innovations the camera-proud Samsung company might release with the Galaxy S8.

Some speculate that the new model might include an upgrade in the guise of a dual camera setup like the one currently found in the iPhone 7 Plus. What can be noted with certainty is that Samsung has applied for a Korean patent for improvements in zoom functionality.  Additionally, there might be an auto focus feature added to the front-facing camera, which has been hitherto reserved to the “main” camera facing to the rear.

iPhone 7S and iPhone 8 – What’s new in smartphones?

What’s Upcoming with the New iPhone 7S and iPhone 8

Rumors are rife regarding the upcoming and much-anticipated iPhone 7S and all-new iPhone 8. For iPhone aficionados, the question looms: what can we look forward to with the new variation and the brand new model?

Next Up: the iPhone 7S?

iphone 7s

Marking the tenth anniversary of its original iPhone, the next offering in the iPhone line-up will be the iPhone 7S. With an anticipated release date of September 2017, the iPhone 7S will probably cost about the same as the iPhone 7 (currently top-of-the-line) but will include some features.

Some experts speculate that the 7S might be skipped altogether, and Apple might go straight to the eight for this year’s release. Proponents of this idea point to the ten-year anniversary as an impetus to go big with a brand new model, entirely skipping the S variant which has traditionally been released as an essential half-step between models.

Those who disbelieve this rumor point to Apple’s very predictable past, which has included the announcement of a “next-step” phone in the first week of every September (hence the anticipated September release) and the consistent release of an S-model before a new numerical model.

Regardless of how it ends up being numbered, the next model is heavily rumored (based on information leaks in the supply chain for Apple products) to feature an OLED screen rather than the current LCD approach.  OLED stands for “Organic Light-Emitting Diode,” and the new technology works without the need for backlight. The resulting display includes deeper levels of black, and the unit can be both lighter and thinner than the LCD to which we are accustomed.

Several companies have begun using OLED technology in television and computer screens, but Samsung is the only major manufacturer of smart phones to have made the cross-over from LCD to OLED screens thus far. Even if Apple goes straight to the eight, OLED screens have been ordered in mass quantities and will certainly be featured in the next phone!

Looking Forward to the iPhone 8

iphone 8 concept

Many folks hope that the rumors are true, and that the iPhone 8 will make its appearance this September!  According to sources in Apple’s supply chain, the new phone itself will be similar in size to the iPhone 7, but the screen will be bigger. How does that work?

The “home” button will be removed from the unit’s front (replaced by technology with 3D sensory perception) so the screen can cover the entire front of the phone.

The 3D sensor itself is generating plenty of buzz, being comprised of a new design of front-facing camera combined with an infrared sensor. Not only will this provide a new level of security (think facial recognition instead of thumbprint scanning), but it will also be able to take three-dimensional selfies and scans, and will be put to use in mobile games.

The phone itself is purportedly sporting a new sort of design, with a stainless steel housing (rather than aluminum frame) and glass on both the front and the back.  Because the OLED screen is uniquely suited to curvature, there is also speculation that the phone itself might be designed with a curve built in.

On top of all this, Apple has listened to its consumers and promised to fulfill the most frequent request: namely, a bigger battery with significantly longer life.

Look for additional features that may include technology for wireless charging and improved capabilities for AI (Artificial Intelligence). Perhaps Siri will have a smarter successor!

Best iPhone Repair Company – What the Ratings Say?

iPhone repair is becoming a common issue nowadays and people have to face it at some point or the other during the life of the device, no matter how careful they are in handling it. The chances of a person dropping his iPhone accidentally, smashing it somehow or doing inadvertent damage to it while using it have increased in the last few years.

Since the iPhone is an expensive gadget, parting with it because it got damaged after an accident can be a very devastating thing for any user. However, iPhone repair companies and services are available that can help in restoring your phone to its original glory without costing you much.

Factors to Consider when Selecting iPhone Repair Company

Choice of the service for repairing your beloved iPhone must not be done in haste. When selecting an iPhone repair company one must have to take into account the following factors.

  • Repair Cost: Whether the repair cost demanded by the company is in line with the market standards or not?
  • Components: Will instructional material and replacement components be provided by the service if you are to repair the phone on your own?
  • Trustworthiness: Is the company trustworthy? Does it have a professional website? Whether the iPhone repair process has been explained properly or not?

Why Better Bureau Ratings are Important

In addition to the abovementioned factors, one other factor that you will do well to remember when selecting an iPhone repair company is the ratings given to it by bureaus that rank the best repair services. The companies that are accredited by better bureau ratings are to be trusted than amateurs service providers that offer cheap rates and empty promises.

The ratings given to a repair service by a bureau are based on a number of factors and make it easier for you to decide whether a particular company can be trusted or not with the repair of your iPhone.

Why AmateuriPhone Repair Companies need to be avoided

Amateur iPhone repair companies often boast of providing cheap and quick repair services but unfortunately all of this is a sham. They do not possess the experience or the knowledge to understand the issues with a damaged iPhone and thus cannot repair it as professional service providers can.

Another danger that remains when trusting an amateur service to repair your iPhone is that they can take out the original parts in your phone that are functioning properly and replace them with cheap ones, damaging your phone even further.
