Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, and Note Repairs

The Samsung phone much like the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 has a fused digitizer and LCD assembly. The glass is adhered to the LCD using a Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive. This LOCA as its referred to creates the crystal clear bond between the outer glass and LCD screen. The LOCA helps to distribute the touch sensitivity properly while also bonding the two halves together in order to form the front screen assembly.

Recently it has come to our attention that various repair centers are offering front glass replacement on the Samsung Galaxy SIII, S4, Note 1 and Note 2. Repairing the Samsung models can be very pricey if done right but the difference between a glass only repair and a full factory fused LCD / Glass assembly is big.  By doing a glass only replacement on the phone you are essentially removing the LOCA between the LCD and Glass.  Although this is definitely a cheaper option it is in our opinion not a quality repair and issues can and do arise with this method.  We have seen a number of phones in our shop that have had glass only replacements. Some of the issues we have seen are with touch panel sensitivity, the glass falling off of the phone, and worst of all the phone locking up and freezing. We have noticed the phone can freeze if pressed to firmly due to the lack of LOCA as a buffer between the glass and LCD.

The Samsung phones are expensive pieces of equipment. When you invest in such an advanced smartphone you take on the responsibility of keeping that device working for years. Insurance many times doesn’t cover breaks or neglect which leaves you having to feel the burden of repairing the device. Luckily at Repair Sharks we can replace your full front assembly the correct way and give you back that amazing LCD clarity and picture that first drew you to buy the phone in the first place. Think of it like this, you buy a Ferrari and get a big scratch on the side. Do you repair it with a spray can or do you take it to a professional auto body shop that is going to paint it the correct way?

In any event, if you do happen to crack your screen the Repair Sharks are always here to help. Give us a call or shoot us an email and we can give you a quote on repairing your phone with genuine Samsung screens and LCD’s.
